Fix 2: Redesign the Assessment Loop

Fix 3: Compress the Offer Timeline

Every day between final interview and offer reduces acceptance probability. This is the cheapest fix on the list and the one companies are slowest to make, because the delay is usually caused by internal approval rather than by hiring.

The three changes that matter

Compress internal approval to under three business days, and treat that as a service level rather than an aspiration. Pre-approve compensation bands so the hiring manager can extend an offer without a further round of sign-off. Then discuss the counteroffer at offer stage rather than waiting for it to arrive, because at senior level the counteroffer is the default rather than the exception.

The useful number is what offers are actually closing at, not what a report says the median is. Published ranges lag and are self-reported. If you are losing candidates at offer stage rather than at interview stage, the band is the problem regardless of what the survey says.
